MARCH

PLANTING, WATERING, AND WAITING

As we enter the month of March, we are reminded that growth often happens quietly and gradually much like the change of seasons. In the verse above, we hear an image of steady nourishment and deepening roots. Adolescence can feel much the same way. Even when progress isn’t immediately visible, meaningful growth is still taking place beneath the surface. Small, consistent moments of support, listening, and encouragement truly matter.

This season invites patience and trust. Just as spring unfolds in its own time, our teens develop resilience, confidence, and independence step by step. Thank you for continuing to show up, even when the results aren’t instant or obvious. Your steady presence helps create the conditions for healthy growth, and we are grateful to partner with you as your children continue to blossom in their own time.

2026-27 CHOICE OF SUBJECT
Can you believe it's time to start choosing classes for next year?  This year is racing by!  Students will receive an appointment link the week prior to the grade level window to make an appointment with their counselor.  Appointments cannot be made during core classes, and students will be responsible to make up any missing work.  Students will use their calendar reminder as a pass to leave class for their appointment.

Counselors will sit with each student to review GPA, graduation credits, teacher recommendations for rigor, post-secondary plans, and more.  Please make sure to review the 2026-27 Course Guide prior to the appointment.

Scheduling Windows:
11th  January 20-30
10th  February 9-20
9th  February 23-March 6

If you have missed your grade level's appointment window, your counselor will be reaching out to you to reschedule.

SCHEDULE CHANGES
  • The only schedule change requests for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year will only be for SEMESTER classes that students are enrolled in this spring.  This process will open at the first progress report date.  Stay tuned for details!

PSAT UPDATES

PSAT Testing Success!

Our PSAT administration was a great success with over 500 students completing the exam on October 20. We are proud of our students’ hard work and focus throughout testing day.

PSAT results have been available since November. Students can access their scores in several ways: by logging into their College Board account, using the BigFuture School mobile app, or obtaining a printed score report from their school counselor.

We look forward to celebrating our students’ achievements and helping them use their results to plan for future academic opportunities.

DUAL CREDIT UPDATES

Dual Registration has begun for those taking Dual Credit classes! Please see your email from Mr. Frein and complete your registration soon as possible. If you have any questions or need help registering, please reach out to Mr. Frein at peterfrein@johnpauliihs.org.

      • Tools for productive parent-teen conversations
      • Ways to support academic and emotional growth while building independence

PARENT CORNER

As we watch the landscape around us gently turn greener and days grow longer, we’re reminded that growth often happens quietly and over time just like the verse from Hosea tells us: “I will be like the dew … he will blossom … his young shoots will grow.” Growth isn’t always dramatic. It isn’t always fast. And sometimes, especially in parenting, the most meaningful changes are the ones we don’t immediately see. Whether it’s your teen finally opening up after a long quiet winter, or small habits of kindness and responsibility emerging bit by bit, God’s steady work in family life reflects the unfolding of spring itself.

Parenting can feel heavy at times, but you don’t have to walk this journey alone. For local encouragement and support, consider connecting with community resources that can foster connection and shared growth: the Parent Pass® app offers a hub of activities, events, and support built for North Texas families. Dallas Moms and Fort Worth Moms provide local parenting articles, community insights, and newsletters tailored to our area. Organizations like the Dallas Association for Parent Education offer workshops and parenting classes to help equip and encourage you. And if you ever need someone to talk with, the Texas Parent Helpline is available 24/7 by call, text, or chat to provide parenting support and information at no cost.

Just as spring invites life and renewal, may this season be a time of gentle growth for your family rooted in patience, nourished by community, and marked by hope. Click, follow, or reach out; even small connections can help you feel seen, supported, and strengthened in your parenting journey.
